Paste best of what's next, AMA Showcase + hitting the road :: 9.1.08
well, it's been a while since we've updated you all - and some things have certainly happened.first, we were recently picked as one of Paste Magazine's "Best of What's Next" bands. to see a picture of the review, click here, to read it, click here, or just pick up a copy of the September issue. our label mate Samantha Crain is in there, too.
we also caught up with the guys and girls of paste magazine before our show at the earl in atlanta to record some stuff. to listen to an a capella cover of the everly brothers' "let it be me," click here. AND, we were also part of the paste culture club podcast that coincided with the september issue. check that out here.
thank you thank you thank you to paste for including us in so many activities!
second, we are excited to be playing a showcase at this year's Americana Music Association conference in Nashville. we'll be playing at the basement on 9.17 @ 10pm. for more info, click here.
third -- as you may have heard, we were scheduled to hit the road with Will Hoge this fall, but due to injuries sustained during an auto accident, he will no longer be able to play the scheduled shows. we're not sure how long he is going to be out, but we will be continuing on with most of the shows, alongside a couple of different acts, including Katie Herzig, McCarthy Trenching, Samantha Crain & the Midnight Shivers and more. It's not certain which acts will be on which dates just yet, but please keep your eyes peeled. the goal is to give a portion of the proceeds from this tour to will hoge and his family so we hope you will come out and support the cause! we also hope to set up a tour with will sometime in the very near future, when he gets back on his feet.
last, but certainly not least, we are hitting the road with Railroad Earth this week! Here are the details:
Washington, DC :: 9.4.08
9:30 Club
Philadelphia, PA :: 9.5.08
Fillmore @ TLA
New York, NY :: 9.6.08
Fillmore @ Irving Plaza
as always, if you'd like to help us out by putting up some posters to let people know we're coming through town (click here for all of our tour dates), send stephanie an email and she will send you the goods.
OH, and we also started recording. it will be a little bit before these gems are polished and ready for the light of day, but we're really excited for you to hear them.
thanks for listening. we will see you all very soon.
love,

and now we rest (and live on daytrotter.com) :: 8.4.08
washington and oregon are two very nice states. seattle and portland are two very nice towns in those very nice states. the tractor tavern and pickathon are two very nice venues in those very nice towns in those very nice states -- and we were privileged to play both of them this past week. thanks to all of you who came to see us during our quick juant to the Pacific NorthWest. we had a lovely, lovely time and can't wait to come back.another cool thing happened this week in the international waters of the world wide web - daytrotter.com posted the session that we recorded a while back. there are four songs for download / streaming, three of which are new. we hope you'll take a listen and let us know what you think. here is the link. here is a place to tell us (and others) what you think.
the next month and a half (give or take some days) will be spent resting up, writing and recording. we hope to have a new record out sometime next year, so we must take time to cultivate. we will miss you dearly out there on the road, but we know that we will see you again.
keep checking back for periodic updates ... they will certainly be coming.
wipe out,
the everybodyfields
